Head of Christ (Rembrandt)

Another speedpaint portrait. Wanted to do something other than films, so I decided to paint a study of one of Rembrandt's 'heads of Christ' portraits.  The series of portraits are among my favorite paintings ever done, and seeing them in person was just amazing.

Character designs

These are all done with a combination of traditional linework with colors added digitally. When I work, I like to keep traditional elements present in my finished pieces, to not lose spontaneity and texture. Not that you can't achieve that all digitally, but I feel something is lost when it's all done on the computer.
